Our Coffee Mornings, touch the hearts and souls of many women and children. We have 2 coffee mornings, running on Wednesday in Sneinton and Friday in Wollaton. We also support a coffee morning in Radford.
Our aim is to promote integration and community cohesion, as the coffee mornings welcomes women from all walks of life, different faith and culture backgrounds to build understanding and respect among them thus promoting community cohesion, building bridges with our neighbours and to understand and respect our differences.
We offer a safe and friendly environment for women and children. They come and enjoy a warm atmosphere and connect with other women in the community. We have toys and activities to keep children happy and entertained. We provide structured arts and craft and rhyme time at some of our sessions.
Our coffee mornings are run purely by volunteers, with a diverse set of skills, whose priorities are to advance the quality of experience. They use their networking strategies for outreach work to welcome women to the service.
This service is an ideal platform to address social issues women face, such as isolation, mental health, domestic abuse, hate crime, Islamophobia, lack of information and not having access to support networks. We arrange speakers to come to address these issues, raise awareness and signpost where relevant. Through coffee morning, we encourage women to partake and volunteer in social action projects, which provides them several opportunities to learn and enhance their confidence levels and shine out brightly in lives.
