We continue to work at making impact at grassroot level with women at our ongoing Wollaton Coffee Morning service – touching the hearts and souls of many women and children. Thank you to the local businesses who support this service. We are thrilled for the support we are receiving for this service in 2020 from Magikats, Daniyaals Martial Arts Academy and PAK foods. Since May 2019, we have branched out and started supporting our sisters in Radford at the Ladies tea and coffee morning at the Nottingham Islam Information Point.
We are now looking forward to launching a regular coffee morning in Sneinton on Wednesday 15th January inshallah. Thank you to the local businesses who are supporting us in making this possible.
Our Lego club is a popular service, developing boys and girls educational and social skills. A wonderful way for children to use masjid spaces for recreational purposes and be even more comfortable at the masjid.
We reappeared at the Salaam Shalom Soup Kitchen to serve the destitute community in Nottingham in Ramadan.
Our community events to promote Islam in a positive light included the celebration of Eid ul Fitr in June at Wollaton Mosque and Jamia Sultania Sneinton Mosque and Eid ul Adha at Sherwood Mosque spearheaded and delivered by Muslim women.
We celebrated our 5 year anniversary in March 2019 with key partners, stakeholders and guests presenting the impact of our work and a clear direction forward to empower women in masajids.
We are pleased to be making a national presence collaborating with the Muslim Council of Britain to roll out national research on “Women’s Attitudes towards Mosques”. We also took an active role on the steering committee of the Muslim Council of Britain Women in Mosques Development Programme. A programme that aims to develop the capacity of Muslim women nationally to take active roles on mosque boards.
We also like to have fun so we took a coach full of women and children to the Scarborough beach in the summer.
We are happy to collaborate and have worked with wonderful local women’s groups and charities including – Nottingham Islam Information Point, Al Hurraya and Nottingham Muslim Womens Network.
And the most amazing part of it all is that all of this is achieved by volunteering alone. ANN Management team are all volunteers passionate to make change in masajids. A heartfelt thank you to all the beautiful souls who volunteer and support our cause in so many creative ways.
