We were very pleased to host “Celebration of Women in Nottingham” on Sunday 6 March.

We had inspirational women from Nottingham sharing their personal journeys. Have a look on our Facebook page to hear their stories.

Children enjoyed arts and crafts, facepaint and sweet treats.

We had a delicious meal whilst reconnecting with women from our community

We are delighted that in partnership with Little Ninja Play Centre we bring you coffee morning meet up every third Friday of the month.

We have space for women with or without children.  Children under 6 can enjoy playing in the play centre.

Delicious halal breakfast and lunch options available at the centre.

Keep up to date on dates of meet up on our social media

An-Nisa Network would like to hear from you what services and activities you are interested in so that we can work on designing them with you for you.

Good News? ??

An-Nisa Network are working with local sisters in Sneinton to set up a coffee morning at Jamia Sultania masjid. So if you live in Sneinton or nearby this could be for you!

This aligns with our mission to empower women in Mosques, make them feel comfortable and welcomed to take part in social life in a safe and sacred environment.

Your support is precious to our work and we are not able to do amazing things without you lovely people in the community. You can support is in a number of ways to make the project possible

1. Sponsorship from local business people: if you are a business owner and would like your logo on all of our promotional material and want to give back to your local community then this could potentially fulfil that aim.

2. Donations from community: why not set up a standing order for as little as £2/5 per month to help us sustain our services. Or make a one off donation, every little helps.

3. Volunteer a portion of your time to a good cause. If you live nearby or would like to help out at any of the events we do then why not drop us a line to have a chat.

I was asked for my tips on how to run community initiatives. So here goes….

My ingredients for success in community work

1. Intention first and foremost all for pleasure of Allah. Success is from him alone

2. Organisational skills plenty of planning in advance. Organising resources and people. Your team need to know in advance what their role is. Know each individuals strength and offer support on areas of development.

3. Hunger for success. I literally get obsessed with my projects. It helps if you are passionate about the cause if not then reflect? Why are you doing it.

4. Networking and relationship building with stakeholders. Know who they are what they are interested in and find common ground. Find out how to win them over and pick your battles wisely.

5. Resilience recover quickly and learning from setbacks. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Be prepared to listen and change.

6. Tenacity keep going until you are satisfied you have given your best. You are you own boss ?
